Elmo says … it’s time to find your way back to Sesame Street

Sweep those clouds away and prepare for only sunny days with the new season of the beloved children's series, debuting Nov. 10 on Netflix. In the first trailer, above, the characters you know and love (Big Bird! Cookie Monster! Abby Cadabby! Oscar the Grouch!) invite viewers into the world of Sesame Street with original music, engaging animation, and, as always, lots of laughter.

The new episodes — which will drop across three volumes — allow you to immerse yourself like never before with interactive, visually engaging 11-minute stories that put you at the center of the action. Along the way, young viewers will be exposed to heartwarming lessons about compassion, taking turns, cheering up a friend, and solving problems together. Also, many, many cookies.

Expect celebrity guests to also join in on the fun, starting with professional race car driver and NASCAR champion Bubba Wallace, who appears in the first volume.

Sesame Street key art.

“Season 56 reimagines Sesame Street, inviting children into the action and bringing them hand-in-hand through high-stakes stories, powerful learning moments, and laugh-out-loud surprises,” says executive producer Sal Perez. “And, as always, Sesame Street’s curriculum is designed to meet children’s most pressing needs — so our focus this season is on kindness and compassion, something we can all use more of today.”

Since the series first launched on Nov. 10, 1969, Sesame Street stands as the most awarded children’s program in television history, with 200 Emmy Awards, multiple Peabody Awards, People's Choice Awards, and a Kennedy Center Honor.

New episodes will be available in 30+ languages globally on Netflix, and released on the same day on PBS stations, the PBS KIDS Channel, and across PBS KIDS digital platforms in the U.S.
