Every Time Someone Roasts LILHUDDY’s Mansion on ‘Hype House’

“Lowkey looks like the Cheesecake Factory.”

Chase Hudson’s home goes by many names — Hype House 2.0, Huddy’s Hacienda and The Cheesecake Factory, to name a few — all of which we learn on Hype House, the docuseries following members of the buzziest teenage TikTok collective around. Known for its, ahem, interesting decor (including a rock-hard chair, ornate murals of angels and decorative dolphins), his Mediterranean-style mansion features a massive pool and basketball court. While the rest of the members of Hype House moved to a new home just outside Los Angeles County in December 2020, Hudson remained in the area to focus on his music career.

“I’m spending all of my time fully devoted to being a musician,” Hudson says in the show’s premiere. “That sacrifice came with a lot of consequences, that being me not being able to see my friends as much.”

Hudson’s house in Encino is the center of one of the series’ core conflicts between Hudson and Hype House co-founder Thomas Petrou. Petrou claims that Hudson, one of the most popular members of the group, promised to continue making content with them in exchange for the Hype House paying his rent but didn’t hold up his end of the bargain. But — spoiler alert — by the end of the series, the two make up, with Hudson leaving the business side of the Hype House and instead focusing on his friendships.

This, however, doesn’t stop members of the Hype House from absolutely dunking on his decor at every chance. Though we think the style should be classified as, let’s say, “emo-meets-Italian Renaissance,” here are some of the best takes the influencers have on Hudson’s home.

“The Cheesecake Factory”

When we first see Hudson’s house, it’s through the eyes of Hype House members Jack Wright and Vinnie Hacker, who are also seeing it for the first time. Taking in the thick columns and orange walls, Wright says in a confessional that the place reminds him of a certain chain restaurant known for its gaudy brown-and-orange theme. “Chase’s house is so, so sick — I love it. Like, lowkey looks like the Cheesecake Factory,” he says. “I love [the] Cheesecake Factory, so right as I stepped in the house, I was like, ‘C’mon, gimme the bread. Where is it?’” Later, however, Hudson manages to impress them with a massaging mattress and multiple foosball tables.

“Dracula”

Larray isn’t known for holding back, and he definitely doesn’t do so here. While seeing Hudson’s house during a dinner party, he says in a confessional that it “fits him so well — Dracula!” But Larray then follows it up by saying he’s actually kind of mad about it. “His interior designer sucks,” he says. “Whoever decorated that house is awful.” Gesturing to his own plants, he encourages Hudson to “get like me, bitch.”

“Look at this elegance,” he says. “Y’all see this? I got succulents, bitch.”

“Two Front Doors”

Petrou and fellow Hype House member Alex Warren’s first impressions of the mansion aren’t great either. After being seemingly unable to find the correct door, they walk around the house to find where to knock. “What kind of house has two front doors?” Warren asks Petrou. Petrou replies: “The rich people kind.” Hudson’s front door continues to be a problem in the series, as Hudson is seemingly unable to hear visitors’ knocks on multiple occasions.

“The Cheesecake Factory” Part 2

Later in the series, Petrou and other Hype House members make their way to the mansion for a pool party. While getting out of the car, he tells them, “We’ve made it to the Cheesecake Factory, everyone.” Perhaps a collab is in his future? It would be on-brand following the success of his Burger King meal. Just saying.
